Lillian Hsu is currently the Director of High Tech High Chula Vista. She was a founding teacher of Unity High School, a charter school in Oakland, California, that prepares first-generation high school graduates to attend college. She has worked in a variety of educational settings, including EdWeek's Teacher Magazine, the television program Sesame Street, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Lillian earned her bachelor of arts in psychology from Yale University, her master of arts in teaching from Brown University, and her master of education in school leadership from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education.

 

She was born in Taiwan, raised in New Jersey, and now lives in sunny San Diego. Lillian and her husband love spending time with their five-year-old daughter Catalina and one-year-old son Leo--reading Gerald and Piggy books, hiking, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
