Lisa Pickett

Dr. Pickett currently serves as the Curriculum and Instruction 9-12 Literacy Coordinator for the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Throughout her tenure with the Pittsburgh Public Schools, she has served as a curriculum writer, racial equity affiliate, instructional teacher leader, theater program director, and secondary English teacher. In addition, she serves as the CEO of Dr. Lisa Pickett Consulting designing personalized equity supports for such organizations as the Scranton School District of PA, Pittsburgh Public Schools, University of Pittsburgh, Carlow University, Chatham University, Urban Academy, Urban Impact, Fund for Advancement of Minorities through Education (F.A.M.E.) Teachers’ Academy, Brown Mamas, LLC., PA Department of Education, and the National Council of Teachers of English. She is a Nationally Board Certified educator with a Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Administration, K-12 School Principal Certification, PA Mediator Certification, Master's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, and a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary English Education. Voted one of the top Ladies Who Lead by the Professional Women’s Network,  her work has been featured in the Urban Review, Pittsburgh Neighborhood Guidebook, Sampsonia Way, Deesha Philyaw and Vanessa German’s Tender anthology and at various national conferences. Her overarching mission is to enhance student learning and teacher impact via culturally responsive pedagogy and evidence based instructional practices.
